ETL Automation Data Engineering Lead - Vice President

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. We are seeking an experienced VP – App Dev Accounting Tech Service Pillar Lead to drive Quality Engineering, Dev Certification, Test Automation, and Validation across strategic Banking and Financial Services platforms.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership capabilities combined with hands-on expertise in Banking Applications, ETL Platforms, Ab Initio, Unix/Linux, Python, SQL, Hive, PySpark, and Big Data ecosystems. The individual will be responsible for driving an automation-first DevCert strategy, reducing manual certification effort, improving delivery productivity, and building reusable testing and validation frameworks.

The role will also focus on scaling the Pune organization, developing talent, leveraging vendor capacity effectively, and promoting AI-driven efficiencies using Microsoft Copilot and enterprise AI capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards

• • Lead the DevCert Service Pillar strategy, governance, and execution.
  • Drive automation of ETL, data validation, reconciliation, and certification processes.
  • Build reusable frameworks using Python, PySpark, SQL, Shell Scripting, and Big Data technologies.
  • Establish certification practices across Ab Initio, Hive, Hadoop, Databricks, PySpark, and Data Lake platforms.
  • Validate batch-processing applications utilizing Unix, Control-M, and Autosys.
  • Drive AI adoption and automation opportunities to improve quality, productivity, and delivery speed.
  • Partner with Business, Development, Product Owners, SMEs, and Operations teams.
  • Lead release governance, defect management, test strategy, certification sign-offs, and quality metrics.
  • Manage test assets, execution lifecycle, and delivery processes using JIRA, Confluence, and Zephyr.
  • Build delivery dashboards, quality metrics, and reporting frameworks for leadership visibility.
  • Lead hiring, mentoring, capability development, and scaling of DevCert teams.
  • Effectively manage vendor resources and ensure successful execution of Book of Work commitments.

Recommended Qualifications:

• 12-16 years of Technology experience.
• Strong Banking or Financial Services domain experience.
• Hands-on expertise in:
  • Ab Initio
  • ETL Testing & Certification
  • Python
  • PySpark
  • SQL
  • Hive
  • Unix/Linux & Shell Scripting
  • Big Data Platforms
  • Control-M / Autosys
• Experience building automation frameworks and data validation solutions.
• Strong Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
• Strong working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr, test management, release governance, and quality reporting.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
• Proven experience leading teams and driving organizational transformation.

Good to Skills

• UI Automation (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress).
• Databricks and Iceberg experience.
• Experience building quality engineering dashboards and DevCert operating metrics.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred
